Why are honey bees dying.

• I believe honey bees are dying because people are using chemicals on their gardens which are poisoning the bees

Other facts which are hurting the bees are:

• There are less flowers

• There are less beekeepers
• Climate change

Why we need bees

Bees pollinate the plants to make them grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. Without bees we would not be able to grow food.

A Queen bee lays between 600-800 eggs each day and about 292,000 eggs a year.

Bees spread pollen from male flowers to female flowers.

They collect the pollen on their legs when collecting nectar to take back to the hive.

Bees take the nectar back to their hives and make honeycomb.  Without bees I would not be able to have honey on toast.

To help save bees we can help them by doing these things.

• Stop spraying chemicals on our gardens and on the flowers.
• Have water outside for the bees to drink.
• We can grow more flowers to attract bees.
• We can keep more bees in hives with bee keepers looking after them .
• We can look after the environment.

Hamilton Gardens - Science Trip

                                                          Hamilton garden.

Room 9 had a great day at Hamilton Gardens. We went into the kitchen garden. There were strawberries. They made their own compost. We had lunch at the seat.

Kihikihi Speedway  Jack,Oliver and Jessada

Determined to win, the cars whiz round the track. Some had three wheels and some with four. There was even a three wheeled car. 

Stunt buggies all take their turn. We even see a Porsche! Looping around the track, the stunt cars puffed out black smoke. Boom! The car imploded with flames bursting out of its engine! Everyone races passed.

I shuffled forward to feel the warmth of the fire. The car

was dragged back to be fixed. The cars carried on

racing. It is now the end. All of a sudden the tremendous fire works Shoot up into the sky like a fresh coat of paint.

Blue is strong.

It is hot water in a mud bath.

It is as cold as ice chipped from the freezer.

Blue can live in the sea for the sea animals.

It is the blue water the animals drink.

It is the blue flash of a great white shark.

It is a swordfish stabbing fish to eat.

Blue is the gush of water falling in a waterfall.

Blue can be used in making making stuff.

My parents were happy with me.It was good. 

Bike Riding Lessons Term 1 2017

We were on the side field with Engerywise, learning how to bike around cones. This helps us to be safe on the road by keeping straight on the footpath. We also learnt about road rules and to put our hand out to tell cars when we are turning.

Integrity games

My game was called Cops and Robbers, the Great Hunt. In my group was Jack, Jayden and me. My game was all right, but it was annoying when kids didn't understand on PURPOSE! We had a great time playing fun games with the kids.
